Moving car pins woman to power pole
A WOMAN injured her lower back and pelvis this morning when she tried to stop a car rolling down an incline in Gayndah.
Gayndah Police acting Sergeant Ollie Owens said two female international backpackers watched as their car rolling down a driveway at about 8.30am.
"One of them has moved to the rear of the vehicle to try to stop it from rolling," Acting Sgt Owens said.
"She's not observed the power pole, and the car rolled back and she's been pinned between the car and the power pole for approximately five seconds.
"Her other friend then got her loose and called us."
Advanced Care Paramedic Will Eather treated the 26-year-old woman for "significant, but not life-threatening injuries".
"She received injuries to her lower back and pelvis," Mr Eather said.
"I stabilised her on the scene and gave her pain relief.
"We transported her to Gayndah Hospital after consulting Brisbane QCC (the Queensland Medical System Co-ordination Centre) regarding a helicopter."
