Multiple playgrounds close for safety upgrades
TO ENSURE the safety of South Burnett residents the council have announced multiple upgrades at two local parks.
In the lead up to Christmas sections of Memorial Park Playground, Kingaroy will be closed to the public.
From Thursday, November 14 until Friday, December 13 the council will be carrying out construction around the park.
Some of the upgrades include creating new concrete pathways and edging plus a new certified softball replacement to ensure a safer play environment.
Works will be carried out in different stages to allow for the public to continue using the park during the construction phase.
Another park that is set for an upgrade is the Lions Park Playground, Murgon.
From Tuesday, November 19 through to Friday, December 13 the council will implement new playground equipment and edging as well as a new certified softball replacement.
The council said the Lions Park rest areas and barbecue areas will remain open to the public during the upgrade works being made at the playground.
Both of the local park upgrades have been funded through the council’s 2019/20 Capital Works Program.
South Burnett Regional Council said they apologised for any inconvenience caused and thanked the local communities for their patience during the construction period.
