Mums' outrage as child sex abuser walks free

THE mothers of three child sex abuse victims say the justice system betrayed their little boys when it allowed their attacker to walk free from court on Tuesday.

Speaking to APN Newsdesk just moments after Judge Paul Smith released an 18-year-old Ipswich man on a two-year suspended sentence, the women said they dreaded having to tell their sons the outcome of Tuesday's hearing.

Innocence lost: One little boy's descent into hell

Already shocked by the revelation that authorities and his parents knew the abuser was preying on children, the mothers yelled profanities at the accused as he laughed and joked on his way from Brisbane District Court.

The abuser cannot be named for legal reasons.

The mother of victim three said she could not understand why the teenager did not go to jail.

"We got no justice - none whatsoever. None," she said.

"The cops knew and all they did was give him a slap on the hand."

The grandmother of one boy urged anyone who knew the accused to contact police if they thought their child was a victim.

"I'm numb - I wanted to vomit when I heard everything that went on," she said.

"What I'm scared about is how many victims we don't know about."

The mother of the first victim said she was angry because the abuser was "not being punished".

"What justice do our kids get?" she asked.

"They don't get any justice."
