Murgon gets into the swim of things at pool launch party
YOUNG swimmers dived into the school holidays at the Murgon Jubilee Swimming Pool on Saturday as the team welcomed the swim season by holding a launch party.
Parents were invited to drop their kids off for an afternoon of fun in the pool.
Pool manager Lori Hall said the afternoon was also full of inflatable fun for the whole family.
"We had all of the inflatables up and ready to go for free,” she said.
"We've also had the kiosk running.
"It's so exciting to finally be open, and just in time for the holidays.”
Ms Hall said there were also lucky door prizes to be won on the day.
"Coming and going through the afternoon we've had probably 90 kids drop by,” she said.
"We're also expecting a few more later.
"The girls from the league carnival will be dropping by to cool down after their games.
"It's all just been a really nice afternoon and we can't wait until we start our lessons this season.”
The pool will be open during the school holidays, however swim lessons won't start up school returns.
Yarraman, Proston, and Wondai pools have also opened just in time for the school holidays.
Kingaroy's pool is set to open on Wednesday, September 25, while the South Burnett Aquatic Centre at Nanango has been open year-round.
