Murgon star makes a mark on the silver screen

MURGON'S golden girl in the acting world, Leah Purcell, has been nominated for a Silver Logie.

The actress has been nominated for her role as Rita Connors in the Foxtel drama Wentworth.

The Silver Logie nomination is for the most outstanding actress in the 2019 TV Week Logie awards.

This is a peer voted category and the public will have a second chance to vote in the Most Popular categories with the live voting from Sunday June 24.

This will remain open until the end of the red carpet telecast at 7.30pm on the night of the Logies, Sunday, June 30.

Purcell will be competing against Danielle Cormack (Secret City: Under the Eagle), Jenna Coleman (The Cry), Judy Davis (Mystery Road) and Nicole Chamoun (On The Ropes) for the most outstanding actress.

The prison drama Wentworth has also been nominated for the most popular drama program
