Mustangs bounce back with win

RUGBY LEAGUE: The Murgon Mustangs were fearing another big loss when the Cherbourg Hornets were 10 points up just five minutes into Saturday's game at the home of the Mustangs.

But the home team were not going down without a fight and they got themselves back in the game to win 38 points to 26.

Co-coach of the Murgon side, Paul Brunjes, was proud of his team's effort to come off the back of last week's loss and take on the Hornets.

"We were real happy about it, it is a big turn around from last week,” he said.

Sticking to their game plan and playing as a unit was key to the team's success.

"We played as a team this week whereas last week there were a lot of good individuals on the field,” Brunjes said.

"It was a great team effort and that was the big thing the boys were talking about in the sheds after the game.”

The game was interrupted with penalties going either way and lack of discipline in the game.

"There was a bit of drop ball and the defence won it in the end,” Brunjes said.

Next week Murgon will take on Wondai while Cherbourg will host Nanango and Kingaroy will have a bye.
