Nanango's Christmas carnival for the community
ANTICIPATION is building for the new Nanango Christmas Carnival.
Being the Nanango Tourism & Development Association (NaTDA)'s first Christmas carnival, many are excited about what they'll see this Friday, December 20.
According to committee member Gloria Kirkness, this carnival will focus on a community theme.
"We're trying to make it as community and family-orientated as we can for our Christmas Carnival. This is because the community has been so involved with the making of this event,” she said.
"The stalls are all self-funded and are setting themselves up independently. The Goomeri Lions Club has a specific chip making van, and we've got balloons to give to the kids from Heritage as well.”
Ms Kirkness also said councillors would be getting involved to spread the Christmas cheer.
"Santa will be coming, and he'll be brought down with a bunch of elves, one being our local councillor,” she said.
"When the kids come to see Santa, the elves will give them little Christmas bags with lollies and balloons and other things in them, and we'll have ice blocks for them as well.
"I'm very proud of how many people are putting effort into our new Carnival, and it's going to be a great evening.”
