New committee member set to help develop the Burnett

REGIONAL Development Australia's Wide Bay Burnett department has just welcomed a new committee member to help make our regions strive.

Bree Grima, the managing director of Bundaberg Fruit and Vegetable Growers is now a part of the team to help foster economic development around the Wide Bay and Burnett areas.

According to RDA, Ms Grima boasts years of experience and will be able to help growers in our region to increase both productivity and profitability.

As well as being a managing director, her resume also boasts positions with the Queensland Horticultural Council, Coastal Burnett Groundwater Management Advisory Committee, has worked with regional councils and more.

RDA chairman Bill Trevor said Ms Grima's has an invaluable understanding of regional agricultural industries.

"Bree's experience, local knowledge and networks will be a great asset to the committee and I welcome her interest and input,” Cr Trevor said.

"In her role as a leader in the horticulture industry her network of connections stretches well beyond just the Wide Bay Burnett. She will complement the diverse skills and talent we have on the RDA WBB committee.”

Ms Grima has said she is looking forward to working with other committee members to help drive growth and development in the area.

Since joining, Ms Grima will be joining other South Burnett members including Georgie Somerset and Kristy Frahm.
