New director shores up Nanango kindy's future
NANANGO Kindergarten have found a full time director, ensuring the kindy meets the education requirements to open its doors again in 2019.
The kindergarten have announced South Burnett local, Lauren Arrell will be stepping up to take on the role, leaving her role at Kingaroy's St Mary's Catholic College where she has spent the past 10 years.
The early education specialist fell in love with the charming little kindergarten after filling in there with some relief work.
The Nanango Kindergarten committee president, Hayley Adams said they had interviewed a few interested applicants, but when it came down to making a decision they couldn't overlook a South Burnett local with so much experience.
"Mrs Arrell is born and bred in the South Burnett and is excited to be working closely with our Nanango community. She brings with her a wealth of experience caring for children in both kindergarten and the early primary years,” Mrs Adams said.
The kindergarten welcomed new families at their open day last week, but Mrs Adams said it wasn't too late to register for next year's intake.
"We do have subsidies available for families that qualify. If you have any questions or queries don't hesitate to contact us,” Mrs Adams said.
The Nanango Kindergarten has been running since 1963 and is a C&K affiliated early learning centre offering educational childcare to children between the ages of 3.5 to 4.5.
