New newborn and family clinic at Nanango

FAMILIES in Nanango now have a new opportunity to access newborn health services.

The Darling Downs Hospital and Health Services has launched a new child health drop-in clinic, which will start in Nanango from Tuesday, February 21.

A DDHHS spokesperson said child health nurses would be at the Nanango Library from 9.30-11am each Tuesday.

"Parents and carers with babies and children from newborn to four years old are encouraged to come to the drop-in clinic," the spokesperson said.

"No appointment is needed."

Services provided include assistance with settling a new baby, baby/child health checks including weighing and measuring, support service information, breastfeeding support and information and parenting advice.

Similar clinics are also run in Kingaroy, Murgon and Blackbutt.

For more information on the Nanango clinic and similar clinics, contact 41629220.

Nanango Hospital is located at 135 Brisbane St, Nanango.

The new clinic follows the introduction of two new midwives in Kingaroy.
