New tattoo removal treatments
A NEW range of cosmetic skin therapy will now be available in the Fraser Coast, after Maryborough tattoo parlour Comfortably Numb launched its new LED light therapy and tattoo removal services.
The cosmetic tattoo removal service will be the first of its kind in the region, and will offer locals the chance to repair or remove unwanted tattoos or cosmetic make-up.
Comfortably Numb tattoo removalist and LED light therapy operator Emily Balke said the new service would help people to become more confident.
"Some people can be self-conscious about tattoos they got when they were young, or tattoos that are bad quality," Ms Balke said.
"Our new removal service will allow us to remove or lighten old tattoos so that they can be erased or drawn over.
"We can also remove old cosmetic tattoos as well."
Tattoo removal has advanced over the past decade, with new techniques and treatments offering patrons the chance to remove unsightly artworks with minimal pain.
Ms Balke said it took an average of one to seven sessions to completely remove an old tattoo, though each tattoo would be individually assessed.
"The process to remove a tattoo is quite quick, but it takes about four weeks to heal in between sessions," Ms Balke said.
"But each person is different, so we asses tattoos individually before the process begins."
LED light therapy would also be offered at the tattoo parlour Ms Balke said, which could be used to treat acne scaring by increasing the level of collagen in people's skin.
"The LED light therapy is a non-invasive technique that is used to give the skin a more youthful appearance," she said.
"But it is also used to treat acne scaring and rejuvenate the skin."
Ms Balke said the LED Light therapy was a great treatment for people who were looking to improve their confidence.
"The therapy eradicates the bacteria under the skin that causes acne," she said.
"It's a great treatment because it doesn't use any harmful chemicals on the skin either."
