New Year baby wish comes true

SUZANNE Koy got her New Year wish when she welcomed her son into the world at 3.51am on New Year's Day.

Her new baby boy, Braidyn, was the first baby born in 2016 at Kingaroy General Hospital.

Mrs Koy went into labour at 9pm on New Year's Eve and gave birth several hours later.

Braidyn weighed in at eight pounds 15 and was 58cm long.

"Which is apparently really long," Mrs Koy said.

Mrs Koy was due on the December 27 but gave birth five days later.

Mrs Koy said four-year-old daughter Lilly-Rose was also six days overdue.

She said had a scare earlier in the morning and thought it was time.

"But it was a false alarm," she said.
