One Direction roadshow rolls into Cannonvale
AIRLIE Beach fans of British boy band One Direction were excited on Tuesday when "1D World" - the official merchandise store for the band - set up shop in the Cannonvale McDonald's carpark.
Diehard fans were waiting in front of the impressive mobile merchandise van to take advantage of the 1D World road trip and get their hands on a limited number of t-shirts, hoodies, posters, dolls and more.
1D World Operations Manager Victoria Orford said the new purpose-built 1D World truck would be travelling from Cairns to Albury-Wodonga from now until January 28 next year, stopping at McDonald's restaurants.
"It wouldn't be a proper road trip without a stop at Macca's, so the 1D World truck will be visiting 25 restaurants along the east coast of Queensland and NSW during the summer holidays," Victoria said.
"It's great to share the 1D World experience with directioners in regional Queensland and add some extra excitement to the school holidays."
After a full day in Cannonvale on Tuesday the travelling store spent yesterday in Mackay's Northern Beaches and will be open all day today at McDonald's in North Mackay.
