Outback town putting on barbecue for Charles and Camilla

HE TRIED out his pidgin English at a sweltering stadium in Papua New Guinea at the weekend and today Prince Charles will be treated to an exclusive barbecue in the outback when he and the Duchess of Cornwall arrive in the Queensland town of Longreach.

The birthplace of Qantas and home of the Stockman's Hall of Fame will be the first Australian town to play host to the couple on their official Diamond Jubilee tour.

When the royals touch down in Longreach about 4pm they will be greeted with a whip cracking display.

The couple will also visit the town's Qantas Founders Museum.

From Australia, the royals will fly to New Zealand where the Prince will celebrate his 64th birthday.
