Pairs reign on South Burnett course

GOLF: Paul Burgoyne and Bill Bool proved themselves as the strongest pair on course for Blackbutt Golf Club's 4BBB stableford on Saturday, Febuary 23.

The duo finished on 42 points to win the day in a field of 34 players.

Paul Green and Lawson Green finished as runners-up also on 42 points ahead of Lionel Worth and Barry Richardson on 42, Bill Wilson and Jim Duff on 41 and Chris Callaghan and Morgan McKaskill on 40.

Paul Green was nearest the pin on 5-14 and 9-18 while Joan Nugent was the ladies' nearest the pin on 5-14 and Dawn Reiser was nearest on 9-18.

There were 12 players on course for the club's veterans stroke on Wednesday, February 27.

Phil Little was the best performing golfer winning the day on 68 nett.

Keith Gerhardt was the runner-up also on 68 nett, followed by Terry Tully, Col Pohlman and Bob Holmes.

Little was nearest the pin on 5-14 and Andy Box was nearest on 9-18.

The Fitzroy Hotel Monthly Medal and Blackbutt Medical Centre women's Monthly Medal will be played on Saturday.

The single stroke is in conjunction with the qualifying round for the men's A,B,C and D-grade match play championship.
