UPDATE: Teenager airlifted after Bunya Hway crash

A PEDESTRIAN has been airlifted via rescue helicopter this afternoon after being hit by a vehicle along the Bunya Highway. 

The boy in his late teens was flown to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital in a critical condition. 

The pedestrian sustained several injuries after being hit by a car along the highway outside of Kingaroy, towards Crawford at 12.13pm on Saturday, October 26.  

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said the pedestrian was being treated for head, chest and leg injuries. 

He said initial reports said the pedestrian was an adult male, but was yet to be confirmed. 

The pedestrian was initially transported to the Kingaroy Hospital before being airlifted. 

The driver of the vehicle was also transported by paramedics in a stable condition to the Kingaroy Hospital.

Three QAS crews attended the scene.

The Bunya Highway is now clear.
