Perrett proud of his Hands of Fame induction

COUNTRY music singer Dean Perrett (pictured) was inducted into the Australasian Country Music Hands of Fame at the weekend.

He said the award recognised people who had made a fair contribution to Australian Music, and "it was a huge honour".

Mr Perrett was in the thick of it all week at the Tamworth Country Music Festival, and walked away victorious.

He took home three awards from his four nominations at the Golden Guitar Awards night, winning The Bush Ballad award, the Alternate Blues, the Blue Grass and the Gospel Song of the Year awards.

Mr Perrett said the week had been a whirlwind, "full of great music and great people".

"I've seen so many old friends," he said.

The Tamworth Country Music Festival ran from January 16-25, and "came alive with country music from all over the world".

Mr Perrett said there was no rest for the wicked, as country music singers move onto another awards ceremony this weekend.

The Country Music Awards of Australia will continue the celebration of the Australian country music industry, with Mr Perrett again nominated for a string of awards.
