THERE were loud sirens, police dogs, ambulance officers, firefighters and people running everywhere, all in the name of fun for our kids.

Kingaroy's Memorial Park was the perfect venue for the Under 8's Day in the Park.

The region's police officers, paramedics and firefighters attended the event to celebrate children and families.

There was no chance of boredom, as the little ones enjoyed a sea of activities including craft, reading, dancing demonstrations and possibly the best part, eating lollies.

The free event included a group reading of popular book, Alpacas with Maracas.

The book was read simultaneously by more than one million children across the country as part of National Simultaneous Story Time.
