WONDAI residents gathered in their green, gold and blue to celebrate Australia Day today.

They listened to the live entertainment by the Wondai Town and District Band while they enjoyed an Aussie breakfast.

This was then followed by a flag-raising ceremony and Wondai's country markets.

The community celebrated art gallery volunteer Elaine Madill's OAM award which was announced last night.

They were also proud to have Roy Radunz in their town, who received an OAM award in June last year for his service to country horse racing.

Noel Sewlway was named Wondai and Tingoora's local achiever at the Australia Day ceremony in Blackbutt.

Mrs Madill said she was proud to have so many people willing to contribute to the community in such a small town and it was nice they were recognised.
