Pilot makes emergency landing after engine fails

THE Forensic Crash Unit is investigating after a light plane crash about 11km north west of Cunnamulla.
About 8.30pm, the aircraft suffered engine failure, causing the pilot to perform an emergency landing in a paddock near the Mitchell Hwy.
The pilot of the plane, a 29-year-old Springsure man, sustained a cut to the head, concussion, and suspected broken nose.
The passenger, a 30-year-old Victorian woman, sustained minor injuries.
Both were taken to the Cunnamulla Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Police will continue to liaise with aviation authorities as they complete the investigation.
