Plenty of birdies expected at women's golf day

The women's golf tees are sure to get a lot of use at Kingaroy's Golf Club next week.

The Kingaroy Golf Club are preparing to host their next women's golf open day.

The competition for the day is a two person ambrose for both men and women.

Women's captain Jane Franklin said for her, golf was a great opportunity to get out into the fresh air.

"You're enjoying the environment," she said.

"It's a game you can play by yourself, with friends or in competitions."

The open day was a chance to compete against members of another club sand for them to experience a new course.

"It is open to members of other clubs," Ms Franklin said.

"We hope to get as many people out there as possible.'

The Kingaroy club is pro-actively pushing more women to get involved.

"We have a beginner women's program called 'ladies that golf'," Ms Franklin said.

The Kingaroy Women's Golf open day will be held on Thursday, July 18.

Names need to be in by 8.45am and first tee off will commence at 9am.
