Fire guts Booval home used by squatters
UPDATE: Police believe squatters frequented a house that burned to the ground early yesterday morning.
Emergency crews were called to a vacant house on South Station Rd, Booval about 2.57am, following reports the building was on fire.
Firefighters were unable to bring the blaze under control before it consumed the entire building, with the roof eventually collapsing.
There was nobody inside at the time and no reports of injury as a result of the fire.
Police established a crime scene immediately, with two people detained but later released without charge.
It is believed that the house was frequented by squatters and that the fire may have been deliberately lit.
