Police pleased after only seven schoolies arrested overnight

SEVEN schoolies were arrested overnight on eight charges for mainly public nuisance and street related offences, with police pleased with the overall crowd behavior at the Surfers Paradise schoolies celebrations.

Of the seven schoolies arrested, there were six males and one female.

There were also 42 schoolies given liquor infringement notices for drinking in a public place.

Of the non-schoolies arrested, there were four people arrested on four charges which were mainly for drug and traffic offences.

There were also two liquor infringement notices issued to non-schoolies for drinking in a public place.
