Police to target fatal five this summer

QUEENSLAND Police will be out in force this summer conducting Operation Quebec Fatal Five to improve road safety and reduce the number of fatal traffic crashes and bicycle incidents.

Motorists can expect to see a higher number of police vehicles on highways and roads during targeting the fatal five offences of speeding, drink and drug driving, failure to wear a seatbelt, driving while fatigued and driver distraction and inattention.

The operation will run from December 14 to February 1 incorporating the Christmas Road Safety Campaign and back to school periods.
