THE South Burnett is likely to receive a severe thunderstorm this afternoon.
Bureau of Meteorology forecaster Richard Wardle said a southerly change is moving up from New South Wales pushing up warm and humid air giving more potential for thunderstorms.
"Kingaroy is highly likely to see a thunderstorm or two during the course of the afternoon,” Mr Wardle said.
"It's likely to be severe with damaging winds and large hailstones, Kingaroy is in that hot spot for severe thunderstorms being very likely.”
Temperatures will reach 31 degrees today in Kingaroy with a 70% chance of rain.
