Power NBL mentor benched in unlicensed driving case
FORMER NBL star Derek Rucker didn't front, but instead sent a letter to Gladstone Magistrates Court admitting his guilt to driving his car when he was unlicensed.
Rucker, 48, from Tannum Sands, pleaded guilty to driving on Friday, May 22, without a licence.
His licence was suspended as a result of an unpaid fine* under the State Penalties Enforcement Registry.
The head coach of Port City Power in the Queensland Basketball League was charged after police stopped his vehicle at 8.10pm on the Gladstone-Benaraby Rd.
Magistrate Penelope Hay noted that Rucker's guilty plea was timely and fined him $300.
He was disqualified for one month.
