Precautionary measure taken for grass fire at Booie

A STRIKE team has been sent out to Booie near Smith Rd, returning to the area where a blaze was burning yesterday. 

Queensland Fire and Rescue's public information officer Robert Haigh said sending the strike team was a precaution given today's high temperatures and strong winds. 

"We've sent the strike team to make sure it doesn't get out of control. 

"With all the fires we've had (in the past few days) even though we think they are out, it's still hot and with the wind there is a chance they could flare up again internally so we are doing safety checks."
