Premier denies seeing early result of Jo-Ann Miller probe

QUEENSLAND Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has denied she was leaked an early copy of a parliamentary ethics committee report into embattled Bundamba MP Jo-Ann Miller.

The ethics committee has investigated allegations Ms Miller failed to destroy confidential documents and then signed a declaration claiming she had destroyed them.

Warrego MP Ann Leahy then found the documents in a safe.

During question time in Queensland Parliament Opposition Leader Lawrence Springborg asked Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk if she had received a "leak" of the report.

"Can the Premier confirm whether such information has in fact been relayed to her on these matters and the potential breach of standing orders associated with it?"

Mr Springborg asked. Ms Palaszczuk briefly denied having seen the report.

"The answer is no," she said.

Mr Springborg later held up a copy of the Queensland Times and quoted from it in parliament.

He said he would be referring a potential leak of parliamentary ethics committee information to the committee for investigation.

"The information contained in here can only have come from a leaked source and, Mr Speaker, it is my intention, it is my intention, to write to you about this matter and ask that the matter be referred to the ethics committee for further investigation," he said.

His use of the QT backfired as Speaker Peter Wellington later told him he was not to use props in the chamber.

Speaking to journalists later in the day Ms Palaszczuk reiterated her support for "all her cabinet members" and said she would be speaking to them about their year next week.
