Psychologist assesses confessed killer ahead of sentence

A MACKAY man who's pleaded guilty to killing Tyrone Michael Baynton in Mackay in late 2015 has been assessed by a psychologist ahead of sentence.
Joshua Don Francis Wales, 27, pleaded not guilty to murder but guilty to manslaughter in the Supreme Court in Mackay in early February.
Defence solicitor Danny Yarrow, of Legal Aid Queensland, mentioned Wales' case in the court again on Monday.
He told Justice James Henry the defence were waiting on a psychological report before proceeding to sentence.
Crown prosecutor Caroline Marco said the sentence could be delayed until Wales' co-accused, Mala Owen Geissler, faces trial.
