Q AND A: Popular musician chooses to live for the moment

THERE are so many truly remarkable people in the South Burnett.

Each and every one of us has a lifetime of achievements, thoughts, beliefs and lessons learned.

The Q&A feature is an opportunity to showcase some of the exceptional people in our proud region.

This week, we hear from South Burnett musician and receptionist at St John's School, Clare Fitz-Herbert.

1. What is something you resent paying for?

Water. Both to drink and to fill up your water tank.

2. What is the best advice you have ever received?

Live for the moment and never have any regrets.

I've never been one to say, "what if?”.

3. What do you do to relax?

I like to watch a really soppy, girly movie or do a brain teaser or puzzles. I love trivia.

4. What is one thing you would struggle to quit?

Singing. It's in my blood.

5. What do you wish you knew when you were younger?

I tell my girls, always do what you love. Just be happy in yourself, don't try to please others.

6. What is the worst injury you've had and how did it happen?

When I was seven, I was running along a jetty chasing my brother with a jellyfish. I was in bare feet and I cut a 10cm hole in my foot from a nail.

7. What would your friends say is your worst habit?

When I get nervous I chew the skin around fingernails. I get nervous when I am watching my children go up for an award or driving in the car with Amber, who just got her learners.

8. What's the nicest thing someone has ever done for you?

Rob's cousin shares a birthday with my mum and when she passed away, he sent me flowers on his birthday telling me he was thinking of me.

9. If you could write a new law what would it be?

I don't know how you would do it but I would work out a way of getting our drought-stricken farmers more water.

10. What do you do when you have 30 minutes free?

I would either do a puzzle or a quiz or close my eyes for 15 minutes and have a power nap. I do it on my 30-minute lunch break at work.
