Qld the active state at Christmas time

QUEENSLANDERS are more active at Christmas than residents of other states, while workers in NSW are just happy to get time off.

Research from whiskey company Jack Daniels compared how Australians spent time over the break.

Half of Queenslanders will play an outdoor game over Christmas, be it backyard cricket or football, more than 10% more than NSW residents and South Australians who were next most likely to play games outside.

Queenslanders get their party started earlier than other states with 35% considering Christmas Eve the start of celebrations.

Nearly half of NSW workers were most pleased with time away from the office, with 48% saying the break was their favourite part of Christmas. In comparison, 39% of Queenslanders and Victorians said the same thing.
