QUEENSLANDERS Jac and Shaz have earned a spot in the My Kitchen Rules semi-finals.

The cousins hosted their ultimate instant restaurant in Mount Isa last night, and they were out for redemption for their mediocre first instant restaurant.

The mums were well organized with their shopping and preparation and they didn't seemed bothered by the regional Queensland heat and humidity.

They started strong with their two entrée dishes, which were simple but hard to fault.

"Definitely a crowd favourite, the fried squid," judge Pete Evans said.

"What you managed to do with it was very, very tasty."

Things only got better during the main course, with many of the diners naming the well-executed chicken roulade as the highlight of the evening.

"Amazing technique on the chicken roulade… the jus was fantastic," Manu Feildel said.

The cousins fell short with their desserts, both of which lacked strong flavours.

"I'm just a little underwhelmed by it," Evans said of the cherry short stack.

"This isn't as strong as your other dishes."

Despite "bombing it" with their final course, the women now sit in second place behind Will and Steve.

Perth couple Drasko and Bianca remain at the bottom of the leader board with only one team left to cook in the ultimate instant restaurant round.

Melbourne mates Ash and Camilla will host their instant restaurant tonight.
