RAIDERS star Joey Leilua was the Dally M centre of the year in 2016.

In 2017, he might be forced to leave the club.

A salary cap fiasco has reportedly gripped the Green Machine, forcing the club to consider cutting up to two players to get salary cap compliant before the start of the 2018 NRL season.

Wide World of Sports reports Leilua has been mentioned in the Raiders' discussions over which players they will be forced to cut.

Leilua's hot and cold 2017 season mirrored the club's disappointing campaign where they failed to play finals football, despite finishing in the top four in 2016.

Leilua has previously been sacked by the Roosters in 2012 over an off-field related incident and left the Knights with a year still to run on his contract after being courted by the Raiders in 2015.

His ability to break tackles and beat one-on-one defenders sparked an enthralling combination with teammate Jordan Rapana on the Raiders' right wing in 2016, but that suddenly seems a distant memory.

The Raiders have reportedly also discussed moving on No.2 rake Kurt Baptiste, who has been stuck behind English star Josh Hodgson.

Channel Nine reports the Raiders want to move Baptiste on to play in England, but the club has baulked at the prospect of paying part of his salary if he moves to a Super League team.
