Rain causes cancellation of events across the South Burnett

NANANGO races have been postponed until January 17 because of wet weather.

"We are expecting more rain this afternoon and tonight," club secretary Rosemary Hansen said.

The B Grade cricket match between Wooroolin Warriors and RSL Services has also been washed out, but the matches between Murgon Diggers and Kumbia Rattlers, and Murgon Colts and Barambah will go ahead as scheduled in Murgon.

The RC Club in Murgon has also cancelled the winter series round at the Angelfield Aerodrome today.

Widespread rain overnight and this morning forced the cancellation of the events.

According to the Bureau of Meteorology, Kingaroy received 46mm of rain overnight to 9am.

The bureau forecasted more rain this afternoon and in to Sunday.
