REVEALED: Hot topic racking up council requests
ANIMAL registration, nuisance pets and wandering animals were the top concerns among South Burnett residents in the 2018/19 financial year, racking up 1754 council requests.
This was an increase of 189 requests from the previous year.
The 1754 animal-related queries were among 16,026 customer requests and applications processed in the last year across 44 different categories, which is an increase of 758 requests from the previous year.
South Burnett Regional Council fielded 1487 requests relating to water supply including service, meters and leaking mains.
Residents made inquiries about roads on 1363 occasions in 2018/2019, which was an increase of 33 requests on the year before and 10 more than the number of requests made in 2017/18.
South Burnett residents called the council's front counter staff in Blackbutt, Nanango, Kingaroy, Wondai and Murgon 31,741 times overall, which is 2913 more times than the previous year.
