Routine traffic stop uncovers 18.5kg cannabis stash
A ROUTINE traffic stop in a quiet country town has led police to an 18.5kg stash of cannabis with a street value between $180,000 and $450,000.
Police from Tambo and the Charleville Criminal Investigation Branch charged two people after a traffic intercept about 2.45pm Sunday.
Officers intercepted a Mazda CX3 on Arthur St in Tambo and searched the vehicle, allegedly locating 18.5kg of cannabis, a restricted drug, and a sum of money.
Two mobile phones and two electronic tablet devices were also seized.
A Victorian man, 48, is set to appear in the Charleville Magistrates Court today charged with possessing dangerous drugs, unlawful possession of restricted drugs, possessing anything used in the commission of a crime, and failing to take reasonable care and precautions in respect of a syringe or needle.
A Paramatta Park woman, 31, will appear in the Charleville Magistrates Court tomorrow charged with possessing dangerous drugs, unlawful possession of restricted drugs, and possessing anything used in the commission of a crime.
