Rugby league hits go viral in America

The NRL has been gifted a unique opportunity to take its game to the rest of the world after it resumed ahead of most sports league across the globe - and boy is it making the most of it.

If America wanted more evidence rugby league is a game played by the toughest men on the planet Maika Sivo and Dallin Watene-Zelezniak - and their respective victims James Tedesco and Matt Moylan - provided it in round six.

Sivo delivered a signature finish against the Roosters on Saturday, running through Tedesco before touching down in the corner to score a try Jonah Lomu would have been proud of.

In commentary, an excited Andrew Voss said: "Call an ambulance, maybe call a priest, Sivo has run over the top of Tedesco. What a moment at Bankwest.

"He just copped everything from Sivo. Bravely put his body on the line with Sivo full head of steam up."

Sunday it was Watene-Zelezniak's turn as a flew out of the blindside to catch Moylan at the perfect time to put him down hard.

"Look at the contact on Matt Moylan - Dallin Watene-Zelezniak has knocked Matt Moylan back to the Sutherland Shire," Matt Russell said in commentary. "(Moylan) bounces straight back up amazingly, what contact. This was absolutely brutal."

The twin blows didn't go unnoticed Stateside.

The House of Highlights Instagram page, which boasts a following of 17.5 million, posted both hits on Monday morning with the caption: "Oh my."

The responses were typically American.

"Damn EA need to come out with a rugby game," wrote one.

"These dudes are different," added another.

"I play football but this is the most manly sport out there," wrote another.

One added: "Just me or these guys look way stronger than NFL players?"
