Russell Crowe pays tribute to cousin Martin after death
Actor Russell Crowe has paid tribute to Martin Crowe, who passed away today, calling the New Zealand cricket legend "my champion, my hero, my friend".
Russell, who is Martin's cousin, tweeted: "I will love you forever."
The two were incredibly close, and kept in contact despite the geographical distance between them.
When Russell's team, the South Sydney Rabbitohs, won their first NRL premiership in 43 years, in 2014, Martin was one of the first to tweet his congratulations: "Congrats #ssfcrabbitohs on greatest victory, bookended by Slamming Sam bravery & GI genius.
80 mins of epic drama no one will ever forget."

And before last year's Cricket World Cup, he warmly recounted how he celebrated New Year's Day 2015 with his cousin in Australia.
"All the kids were there, the cousins," he said.
