Safes robbed during 3 break and enters yesterday

TOWNSVILLE detectives investigating the theft of cash from safes during three recent break and enters yesterday charged a 29-year-old man.

Police will allege that money was stolen during the break-in of a sandwich shop at a Thuringowa shopping centre on December 16, and money again stolen from a safe during the break-in of a marine business at Currajong on December 18.

Police will also allege that an apartment located in Second Avenue, Railway Estate sustained significant damage after a blaze was lit during a break-in on December 23. Property was also stolen from the home safe.

A 29-year-old Townsville man has been remanded in police custody and is due to appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court on Date charged with one count of arson and two counts each of enter premises and commit indictable offence and one counts of enter dwelling with intent.
