Saints to march in for presentation night

SOUTH Burnett Saints will unite for the final time this year at their presentation night this Saturday at the Carollee Hotel.

Women’s captain Reanna Fenton said despite not getting the results they wanted, she still really enjoyed the year.

“It was great to see new faces on the team who fit in with the group so easily,” Fenton said.

“Next season I’m looking forward to working closely with our future coach and building up the team.

“I’m very excited to see what next year has in store for us ladies.”

“I’m looking forward to catching up with everyone in the club at the presentation night and finally being able to relax after a hard season.

Fenton said she hoped to get a longer players list of new ladies at the club as well as their experienced ladies and hopefully discover some talented girls at the high schools.

Saints player Hayley Ellison was one of the newest recruits to join the team in 2019.

“It’s my first time playing since having my kids and it was great to get back into a sport I love,” Ellison said.

“I met an awesome bunch of girls and formed some great friendships with them.

“I hope to keep improving and look forward to next year,” she said.

Ellison said she was just excited to strap on the boots again and play footy with the local ladies team.

Club president Andrew Foley said he was looking forward to celebrating with all of the players and club members at the presentation night and discussing the formation of an Under-14s team.
