Clear skies predicted for Kingaroy Christmas Carnival

THURSDAY, 4.30PM: THE rain has cleared and organisers are placing the final touches on the Kingaroy Christmas Carnival this afternoon.

Showers fell across Kingaroy and the South Burnett this afternoon but the skies have cleared ahead of the carnival's 5pm start.

Kingaroy and Haly Sts have been closed for the event.

THURSDAY, NOON: CLEAR skies are most likely ahead for the Kingaroy Christmas Carnival tonight.

Despite a medium chance of rainfall today, Weatherzone has predicted mostly clear conditions for Kingaroy when the carnival starts at 5pm.

Corky and Shaz will host the annual event until 9pm on the main streets of Kingaroy.

Residents can expect plenty of food and craft stalls, live music and rides.

All rides are $2 except for the dodgem cars.

Santa will arrive at 6.30pm.

Parts of Kingaroy and Haly Sts will be closed this afternoon for the carnival.
