Police probe phase at Cooloola Cove property now over

A POLICE search of a Cooloola Cove property thought to have some link to the suspicious death of a Gold Coast man ended yesterday.

Police Media confirmed the forensic probe had finished at the Investigator Ave property, adding investigations would continue.

Earlier, police confirmed the investigation was being conducted in connection to Gold Coast man Shaun Barker's unexplained death, after the discovery of his skull in Toolara Forest in April.

The Toolara Forest backs on to the Investigator Ave property, which has been the subject of intense police scrutiny since Monday.

Police had erected a marquee at the back of the property while the front of the house was closely guarded.

Forensic investigators searched painstakingly through a skip bin for clues while scouring the property, including the roof of a shed. The investigation has sparked intense speculation within the Cooloola Cove Community with numerous rumours capturing people's attention.

Police Media would not comment on a rumour yesterday a car had been unearthed in the yard, and would not be drawn on specifics of the case.

Mr Barker, 33, was last seen alive on December 10 and his vehicle was found abandoned in council forestry in Pacific Pines on the Gold Coast.

The Gold Coast man's family is appealing for any information to assist police in the hunt for answers in the hope of getting closure.
