Search still on for Warwick police officer Mick Isles
THERE are grave concerns for former Collegians Junior Rugby League coach and former Warwick Police officer Mick Isles, who went missing last week.
Warwick Cowboys president Greg Carey said he knew the police officer from his time as president of the league team in the late 1980s.
"He was a well respected officer and played an important role with player development," Mr Carey said yesterday.
"He was the under eights coach (of Warwick Collegians Junior Rugby League team).
"It's very sad; I hope he'll be found safe."
The 58-year-old Ayr Police Senior Sergeant was reported missing from his Graham Street home on Wednesday.
Ayr authorities were last night performing air and ground searches for the missing police officer.
He only returned to work on Monday, September 21 after being cleared of allegations of improperly issuing driver's licences for money after a nine-month investigation by the Crime and Misconduct Committee.
A police bulletin released just before printing of the Daily News stated a man with a similar description to Mr Isles had been sighted walking along the Flinders Highway near Toonpan, an outdoor suburb of Townsville. No further details were available last night.
