SECURE YOUR HOME: Kingaroy homes broken into and cars stolen

KINGAROY residents are being reminded to secure their homes and cars following the break and enter of two homes and the theft of two cars.

On Sunday night December 16, homes in Lister Court and Macdiarmid St were entered through unsecured doors while the residents were sleeping.

In Lister St, unknown offenders gained entry through a closed but unlocked door and car keys were stolen from the kitchen.

The car was then pushed down the driveway before offenders fled in it.

In Macdiarmid St, a person entered through a sliding door which was left open to allow access to the home for pets.

The person stole car keys and a red Suzuki Swift (registration 902 XAA).

Officer in charge of Kingaroy Police Station, Senior Sergeant Dave Tierney, said residents needed to ensure their homes and vehicles were locked and secured at all times.

"All residents need to take responsibility for ensuring their property is secured to reduce the chances of opportunistic crime occurring,” he said.
