Set the table: Celebrity chef is coming to town
CELEBRITY chef, Matt Golinski will be the guest speaker at this year's Mayor's Annual Community Christmas Luncheon.
The annual event aims to raise money by way of food vouchers for South Burnett families in need this Christmas.
Matt Golinski is an Australian celebrity chef best known for his regular appearances on television cooking show Ready Steady Cook.
Golinski overcame extreme tragedy after losing his wife, Rachel and three young daughters, Sage, Willow and Starlia after their Tewantin home fire in December 2011.
Despite receiving extensive burns to more than 40 per cent of his body as a result of the fire, Golinski has managed to turn his life around and now works as a consulting chef on the Sunshine Coast and is a regular guest at festivals and events around Australia.
Entry to the Mayor's Community Christmas Luncheon is $25 and includes a two course meal prepared by the ladies from the QCWA with produce from Kingaroy IGA.
All proceeds raised from the event will be going towards purchasing Kingaroy IGA vouchers for South Burnett community groups such as Blue Care and Graham house, who will be re-destributing them to community members in need this festive season.
"This event is a callout to anyone and everyone able to share the Christmas spirit with those less fortunate,” Cr Campbell said.
Tickets can be purchased from the South Burnett Regional Council service desks.
The Mayor's Annual Community Luncheon is being held on Friday December 7 in the Kingaroy Town Hall from noon.
