Shark carcass found with jaw cut out on beach
QUEENSLAND Fisheries are on their way to assess a shark carcass after Hervey Bay's Ian Hutchison-Strachan came across it on his walk.
Mr Hutchinson-Strachan was walking along the stretch of beach at low tide when he spotted the shark laying on the sand with it's jaw cut out.
"I've never seen anything like it before," he said.
The concerned resident, who has lived in Hervey Bay for 15 years, reported it to Queensland Fisheries soon after he found the shark.
"I'm interested to find out what type of shark this one was," Mr Hutchinson-Strachan said.
"There are no signs of rotting, so it must be recent," he said.
