Shots fired into vehicle: police call for witnesses

Detectives are appealing for public help after shots were fired into a vehicle at Kallangur last night.

Police said that shortly before 9pm, a firearm was discharged into the side of a Holden Rodeo dual-cab ute on Anzac Avenue causing damage to the front passenger side door.

The driver and sole occupant of the ute, a 22-year-old man, was not injured.

The firearm was discharged from what is believed to be a silver Holden Commodore / Calais before the driver accelerated at speed along Dohles Rocks Road.

He is described as Caucasian, approximately 25- to 30-years-old with a sleeve tattoo on his right arm.

Any members of the public or motorists who may have been travelling in the area at the time and witnessed the incident, or heard a loud noise, is urged to contact police.

Detectives would like to speak to anyone who has obtained relevant dash cam footage in the Petrie or Kallangur areas between 8pm and 9pm.

Investigations are continuing.
