Silver Lining Pet Rescue- Serving pets with love
Silver Lining Pet Rescue is is a registered not for profit organization, and all members are 100% volunteer.
You may have seen the recent television ads for the pet rescue website, which lists pets available for adoption through Silver Lining Pet Rescue, and other rescues around Australia (the ad runs "We think it is time to tell you.. you're adopted")
Silver Lining Pet Rescue is based in the South Burnett, Sunshine Coast, and Moreton Bay areas, although we do have some foster carers in other locations.
We have many pets available for adoption, and would like the local community to consider our organization when looking for a new pet. The pets we have may have been stray, surrendered by their owners (for example, having to move to new accomodation such as a new rental and unable to have pets, elderly owner had to move to nursing home, etc) -or they may have been rescued from a "kill list" at a pound.
We have a number of foster carers who care for the pets whilst we work on rehoming the pet. We believe in responsible ownership, so if not already, all pets are desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, worm and flea treated before being rehomed.
We also work on any problem behaviours to ensure that their new home has the best chance of being successful. We have an adoption process, where interested persons need to complete an application to adopt.
As you can imagine, this all comes at a cost, and so we are always in need of donations, either by way of fundraising activities, raffles, etc, but also by way of sponsorship or donation of services (such as printing, photography, etc)
We are also always in need of more foster carers, as we never seem to have enough, and there are always the unplanned events such as a dog we recently took into the rescue, and have now found that she is seven weeks pregnant (long before coming to us)- so not only do we have this dog to care for, but she will soon be joined by an expected five puppies.
We think it important for people to know, that the costs of fostering are covered by us, as many interested people may think that they cannot afford to foster.
We do have an adoption fee, but these are kept as low as possible, so usually do not cover the costs involved in rescuing the pet (mostly the vet work- desexing, mcirochipping, vaccinations, etc). Thus we do need to continue our fundraising efforts.
