Sixers on the slide after run of losses

BIG Bash League champions the Sydney Sixers appear to be on the slide, having lost their past two games against Perth and the Melbourne Stars.

The team looks a shadow of the one that won 12 consecutive game in the Big Bash and T20 Champions League where it thrashed the Highveld Lions in the final.

But allrounder Moises Henriques said he had not given up hope the team could defend the BBL ttitle.

The Sixers played the Strikers last night at Adelaide Oval in what was a must-win game, and face the Hobart Hurricanes on Wednesday night at the SCG.

Despite the slow start to this campaign, Henriques said there has been no panic among his teammates.

"Last year we were 1-1, then 2-2 and won the remainder of our games," he said.

"So I think we could still even lose one, or two more. You only need to come fourth to get into the semis."

But the 25-year-old admitted his side did need to improve, particularly in the field after making some crucial errors in its 21-run loss to the Stars.

"Last year we fielded well and didn't miss those opportunities. That's the difference between (chasing) 150 or 160 compared to 170 or 180," Henriques said.
