South Burnett cricket matches washed out once again

THE SOUTH Burnett B-grade cricket has once again had most of its games washed out, in the second round of the season.

This comes after after the weekend's opening-round games between the Kingaroy Devils and Blackbutt Timbertowners, and Cherbourg and Kumbia were washed out just over a week ago.

This past weekend the matches between Cherbourg and Kingaroy, and Wondai and Blackbutt were also washed out.

A ferocious thunderstorm hit towns from Wondai to Murgon on Saturday afternoon when eager cricketers had taken to the field.

Results:

Blackbutt were bowled out for 59 before being washed out.

M Marriott bowled out 22, and C Kerkow 7/22.

The Kumbia Rattlers defeated the Nanango Scorpions by 29 runs. Kumbia also won the toss and chose to bat.

Kumbia had 161 all out in 31.4 overs. K Wright had 28 runs, M Barbour 25, and Karl Freeman 23.

M English had 3 for 24, and N Scherger, Matty Early, and Jack Fleming had two wickets each.

Nanango had 132 all out in the 30 overs.

D O'Connor had 45 runs and Jay Steinhardt had 26. M Willard had 16, Keegan Wright had 4 for 15 and Roger Hoare had 5 for 13.
